Suiting Up | Step 1, the cotton tank

Firstly, I am not a fashion designer. I chose cotton tanks because I love wearing them. So, for their functionality, essentialness (to me), their simplicity. And for the cotton.

I love the softness and breathability of cotton. I love that we grow cotton right here in the United States, and have been since our inception. Certainly, cotton's history is storied but it's ours, and we should own it (literally). We should make something beautiful, basic, and fun, together.

I love tanks for the freedom they represent. Rather than beginning with weighty corsets, petticoats or even whale bones, we women of today (and I in particular) can simply put on a tank and we're ready to suit up.

What makes tanks different than say t-shirts is the way they fit - snugly and femininely - close to my skin and yours. Not an outer layer, they are intended to keep us warm and cozy. Tanks are an intimate first layer, providing comfort and support, so that YOU can step out confidently and boldly...live your best life, every day.

All of this is why I started She Threds, to share something I love, something that matters to me, with you.
